Why UK Collectors Need Collection Insurance
Some avid collectors of fine arts assume that collection insurance for their valuable art collection is either nonexistent or overpriced. One might change his mind based on the following. The coverage included, unknown to some, is vast. While it’s common practice that dolls, coins, and stamps are covered, non-mainstream items like writing instruments and sewing items are also covered. Art insurance also covers theft, fire, flooding, natural disasters, and breakage. General appraisals are not required; you determine the value of your art collection and the amount of insurance you think you need. Still, it is advised that an updated inventory of items in the collection be kept, to help expedite claims in the event of a loss.
